Getting a frame re-painted

i have lambretta/vespa classic scooters.

i know a lot of lads who have had frames etc powdercoated. And said the same thing until it all starts flaking off.

My personal opinion is that powder coat colours look false, they don't have the same appearance of normal paint. I used to think that they were
bullet proof but I am not too sure.

depending on the powder type there are different types of powder for different uses. It all depends on which powder they have used

Any decent finish is painted on over the coating. Most scooters only have the frame powder coated as any filler in old body panels and you cannot powder coat.
To save me some typing read this post by nedrapier quoting dekerf.

as I say powder coating was all the thing amongst scooter owners years ago untill they started getting scratched and the moisture got in then it all comes off ;)

I would be even more concerned about aluminium. Aeroplanes dont get powder coated

if someone is happy to have it, fine but its not for me ;)
