Getting rid of stuff

I've sadly been lumped with clearing a deceased relative's large house, and, after dumping crap, charity gifting a load more, I'm left with two 1930's walnut wardrobes, one large walnut dressing table and a weighty electric organ.
All quality stuff but I can't even give it away.
It seems such a shame but I'm just going to have to tip it.
In fact it's going to cost me a few bob to get shot of stuff that really should benefit someone.

I've had them 3 of them round and they've cherry picked the stuff they can sell, which is fair enough.

Auction house. Sell with no reserve so it gets moved on. You will have to pay commission, but worth it.

I tried to give a couple of armchairs away. Charities wouldn't take them as they didn't have the fire resistance labels. They went in the skip, which was a crying shame. They were recliners of reputable make (which I can't remember).

We tried to get rid of some furniture when we had the baby. Good stuff but in need of minor cosmetic repair. Got messed around by freecyclers, charities wouldn't take it, charity restoration workshop said they'd take it but never turned up and didn't even bother phoning to let us know. I even tried this very forum.

In the end I took a hammer to it and it went to the tip. I also lost a little of my faith in humanity.

Is the house on a reasonably busy street? Maybe leave them on the kerb for a few days with a note 'Free, take me.' You'll be surprised what people will find a use for especially if in a reasonable condition. If you do this, try and pick a time when the weather forecast is good for a few days.
