As some of you are aware Deb got knocked of her bike 10weeks ago, The police decided not to prosecute the driver, But I was not happy with that, I had a bit of a go at the police could not get any satisfaction from them, So I wrote to the police complaints department, Any way I got a phone call from them this morning, They are going to reopen the case and charge the driver. I feel really happy about this, It's made my day.

The police do not make that decision, they gather the evidence, put it to the CPS who decide on a reaonable liklihood of conviction or not at cost to the public purse. Good on you for persistence and whatever pressure or new evidence you're able to have provided, even if it is just ongoing injuries they can't dismiss that have swung the balance. Its not the end of the matter by any means tho, keep on at them.

Good for you.
When I had to deal with the police after my accident, they tried their hardest to not help in any way, shape or form. So keep on at them
Fingers crossed for a satisfactory resolution for you.

The police prepare the evidence for the CPS to decide to proceed or not. The problem is the ability of individual officers varies from competent / professional to border line illiterate / incompetent. Due to this you have to keep them under pressure to perform.

I will not let this go until i am satisfied with the result, Fingers crossed.:okay:
This could be the way to go if you have a similar experience. If the motorist does not get prosecuted, It is all done on line so nice and easy.

It really is a double whammy, the Police prepare the evidence, then decide whether or not [they can be bothered] to put the evidence to the CPS, who then decide whether or not they should proceed.

Well done.

Even though the police seemed quite keen to charge the perp in my case they made a complete gash of gathering any evidence, essentially it came down to my word against his.
Fortunately, he pleaded guilty at the last moment, I doubt a conviction would have been secured otherwise.
