Your behind needs to toughen up as said, however do make sure the saddle is level to start with.
A pair of padded shorts or undies might help too

Ride at the pace at which you feel comfortable

Gloves are a must so you dont shred your hands if you come off. The first bit that hits the ground and full of nerve endings!!

Yeah bike saddles take a bit of getting used to, give it time. It'll get better. If you want to change it forget those well padded gel ones, they don't work, find one that matches your sit bones. It's trial and error, I found the perfect one in the secondhand for a fiver.

+1. The worst saddle I ever rode on had a lot of squishy padding and a cutout. I was in agony within 2 miles!
