Man, sorry to hear this - wishing you a swift recovery!
Obviously your health is the most important thing and maybe I'm being excessively punitive; but I'm surprised by how little has been said about the driver's part in this. Yes; they stopped etc.. but bottom line they were inattentive enough to strike a stationary road user when they should have been at least 1.5m from you. You've come away with minor injuries, however consider how it could have gone if they'd been, say, just another 0.25m towards your side of the road..
Has the driver / their insurance company made any noise about potential reparations? Is there any damage to your bike (resultant or, ahem, "otherwise") that you can claim for?
When I got knocked off by an unobservant woman in her car many years ago, I went through a specialist no-win-no-fee solicitor touted by the cycle shop that inspected the bike. This resulted in two new wheels, shifters and bar tape (all of which were damaged to some extent in the accident) while the significant bruising I received was checked out by a private medical practice and IIRC got me a couple of grand in personal injury compensation.
While I think anyone with half a brain is wary of "compensation culture", end of the day we're all paying for it when we buy car insurance and IMO legally and morally such a claim against the party that hit you would be entirely legitimate. Had you been in your car at the time you were struck I'm sure there would be no question of an insurance claim. On top of that the loss of the NCB might focus the driver's mind and maybe avoid similar happening again in future..
