Small climb before the finish. Mikel Honore set off on a doomed attack. GC guys sensibly ignored it and he was caught and it went to a sprint.

Except that didn't happen. Pog couldn't help himself and followed Honore, G followed Pog and it ended up with G and Pog off the front charging for the line - eventually caught by the sprinters. Sprint won by Merlier (not Milan). Second Milan (not Merlier). Third Girmay. Thank goodness - someone whose name doesn't begin with M.

Damn I thought Ganna was going to nick that stage ! Chapeau Milan on a monster of a sprint though.

Breakaway or sprinters stage today ?
For a supposedly boring Giro it's been pretty good so far what I've caught of it.Lots of negatives on social media of Ineos and their tactics but I think they've been good,willing to take it on,and Arensman is going to come good by the third week isn't he 😁

Too many sprinters and their teams will not want a break to go, its a few days before their next chance of a win. Merlier and co will want to prove they can best Milan, while Milan will want to show he is top dog.
