Break was on the edge of being caught back over the issue of pink jersey being under threat and long term GC threat of Rubio in the break ... That battle was won on the last climb where Rubio was caught and no other team was interested in saving ciccone pink jersey.... Then it came down To a two man duel on sketchy wet roads were both came off in slidy low sides and arrieta had thr extra mishap riding off course only to win on a draggy finale. Eualio goes into pink

Sprint with complication last km

Uphill pave finish with 180⁰ turn . A lot of ways to mess up this sprint

...and that's if there is not a crash just before the 4kms point.
Where's the cut-off, 5kms or 3kms? Could be crucial.

What a brilliant finale. I only watched the 7pm highlights but my word what twists and turns. never has "never give up" been more appropriate.

Arietta descending gingerly on greasy roads, but a bit stronger than Eulalio on the flat. Eulalio only has to keep upright to win, but cant manage that, then puts Arietta under pressure on the decent again with Pidcock-esque skills and you think he's won it only for Arietta to reel him in.
Very noticeable Arietta was able to push a bigger gear in the closing yards to reel him in.
All played out in some appalling weather.

It will be interesting how well or not Eulalio holds onto the big GC boys on Friday
