I didn't consciously give up but after 12 years skydiving I felt I needed to do something to work on getting fitter and decided to get myself a mountain bike. I just started to spend more and more time on the bike and less time on the airfield. It works out pretty well as I have a airfield where some friends still jump around 20 miles from how so I can ride there, catch up over a cuppa and ride back. Not jumped since 2011 and don't really miss it but not sold all my kit yet, that would be a big step, but am on my 4th bike already!

I was a runner and rode a bit of National Hunt as an amateur. Hardest thing I ever did was giving up my licence. I cried for a year.
Too many injuries with the horses and then I tore my achilles out training which put paid to my running. I was training for a half Ironman when the tendon went so I just stopped running and kept on cycling.

I really miss the horses.
