I train hard 51 weeks of the year.
In how many events that demand that level of training do you , on average, win or place?
BOT I've only ridden on Christmas Day night and got very wet and cold.

Surly much more to competing than winning or placing. Very nice when you do, but how many would be in any specific event if everyone had the same attitude? In how many events that demand that level of training do you , on average, win or place?

I'm not so sure if that's true. I suppose it all depends on who you speak to though.Pretty much the same as now , the others are in sportives pretending to race. Or worse on Strava and pretending to care.
I was being magnificently inactive ...... then the weight of snow brought down a tree in my garden, and I had to spend an hour chopping it up with an axe and a pair of loppers. Never saw that coming.

I did wonder if you would go, as roads lethal this morning. Wheels were spinning getting out of the Estate.Back on the bike today but needed my studded tyres. Feel happier now.![]()
I unexpectedly found myself off work on Christmas day, so went out for a nice 40 ish miles round the Eden Valley, Inglewood Forest and Greystoke, really glad I braved the rain and explored some new roads. I got so in the zone , I forgot to check the time and got to the Boot & Shoe in Greystoke about 5 minutes after it had closed , ah well never mind, it'll still be there next time!I cycled 22 miles on Xmas day, it was great
