llh and I go out for breakfast three or four times a month. Cote used to be a fave venue until it burnt down.
If Sir and tlh were of the cycling persuasion, I'd suggest an early pootle out to tanhouse farm for a jolly lovely breakfast.

We were in the one in Ilkley at the weekend, half the pub seemed to be queued up at the coffee machines. I suspect some people are spending half the day in there drinking coffee...

Possibly. I am a bit puzzled as to why they extended the offer.

I was in the spoons in colne a while ago. Apparently although the hot water for tea refills remains on free access you now have to ask behind the bar for the tea bags ..

Here for rides.

between us and Tanhouse's lovely repast are two vast obstacles. The climb up the Hurst Hill after the Rusper Road roundabout, and the heart-in-mouth will-I-meet-my maker crossing of that roundabout. tlh has no appetite for either nor the Lanhurstwood Road dash alternative. I once took a walk down the "missing link" and lost a shoe.

I love going out for breakfast..... Over here it's definitely more of a done thing, and I'd say it's the best value meal of the day you can get. When I do retire, it will be one of my life's pleasures to eat out for breakfast once every week or two. It certainly is a slice of Americana when you find an old style diner. Here's one of my locals:

Probably one of my favourite breakfasts ever was in a roadside diner in the States. Steak, grits, eggs (over easy), bacon, home fries and a side order of ham.

Gorgeous

Apart from the grits of course.

Our favourite is the local Toby for breakfast...can't beat bacon yorkshire puddings with gravy in the morning...and my son (AKA Hollowlegs) gets to eat as much as he wants (usually 3 or 4 more times than me!)

I went in one of those on a recent touring trip, enticed by an eat as much as you want breakfast deal and an emailed voucher for a free drink. Am afraid to report that the breakfast seemed tasteless as I ate it and later had a most unfortunate result. Spoons far superior. By good luck later in the tour Day I was most fortunate to have access to a spoons architectural glory with great beer and a good toilet.

Will have to try!
