100% agree with you there,most geared bike riders are rubbish on hills,I was on a charity ride the weekend
before last and had just started to ride up Cragg Vale (it's the longest continual gradient in the UK so says
the sign at the bottom) when a guy half my age and probably a good 3 stone lighter came scooting past
me in his king of the mountains top and his top of the range Boardman geared bike, 2/3 of the way up
and I catch him up (not that I'd been trying to) He's out of his saddle pumping along in his bottom gear
when I came sailing past sat down on my 30 year old steel framed fixie, By the time I got to the top
of Blackstone Edge I looked round and he wasn't even in sight and you can see for a good mile back
down the road,King of the mountains yeah right
