Well done Hedder :bravo:.
Now; how are you at doing the valve clearances on a 2002 Honda VFR 800 (V-Tec version)?
Horror stories abound on the net regarding the cost of getting this done (but to be fair, I have had a reasonable quote from my local-ish Honda franchise to get it done; so well done North Harbour motorcycles in Ayr). Another excuse for a photo.....

I hate doing valve clearances on them! i did a friends last year and it was the biggest P.I.T.A ever, had to near enough strip the bike down just to do it and the n i had a load of crap faffing about with new coolant and bleeding the system out.

I had a very quick read through the Haynes manual section regarding this job. Then I closed the book and decided to get it done by someone who knows what they're doing!

I do like a good ride ^_^
Last time I was on the back of a bike it was a GPZ 1000 and it scared the life out of me. Mind you, the driver was a maniac and I valued my life too much to get back on with him!
Wanna go on the back of my zzr400 with the 600 engine, r1 brakes, r6 forks and a straight through pipe then ?

There are bits that i dont think are mentioned in the haynes manual (i may be wrong) but when i did it i had to take the footrests off to get a heatshield off, stripping the bike down just to get access took a day in itself. i wouldnt like to do it again, if i did id clear three days just for it, just incase anything went wrong.

Oh and i forgot, with the VTEC model its a P.I.T.A because you have to activate a solenoid too without killing yourself.

I've only had mine since 1st October. The only job I have done so far is changing the coolant, which was fairly easy. Next is fork oil, brake and clutch fluid, balance the starter valves, new front tyre .... then it's sorted to my liking.
