i dont know if anyone knows about this or not so i'll explain.
the goverment started a website for giving ideas on wha could be done to save money. those ideas can now be voted on. the reason i'm posting it here is because there are quite a few good idea involving cycling (just search for cycling/cycle/transport) but they havent had many votes!
one i like it turning 3/2 lane roads in 2/1 lanes & have a lane purely for cycling.
