Pre mobile phones, we used to use a couple of walkie-talkies when touring

At Pub or Cafe stops, we would eave one in the panniers, and if someone was showing too much interest, the bike would announce that the person had broken the perimeter alert, the owner had been notified, and would they please step back

I'm willing to bet that within a twenty minutes of being stolen your bike will have been sold on to fund the next fix. A day or two after that it will be broken for parts and flogged on eBay if its something decent,
or sold to some schmuck down the pub.
