I love Stella out of a bottle but round here the draft served in pubs is almost invariably flat and gives me a bad head in the morning - so overall I agree!

I am no expert on beer supply. But, I suspect that the Stella on sale in UK has not been anywhere near Belgium

Don't use the word BEER, it's an insult to good beer. This discussion is about cooking lager.

Doh - Leffe's not bad!
Especially La Radieuse and La Vieille Cuvée.

That looks like an interesting drop of stuff. I've never seen it. Where do you get it (in the UK) ?

I am partial to the Leffe Brune and usually have some handy.

Leffe Brune is (IIRC) stocked by Tesco, Waitrose (and maybe others)

My local stores tend to have more Blond than Brune though B)

Let's hope the industrial action doesn't spill over (no pun intended) to the Carling factory and interrupt production of their first class lager. B)

Not very exciting, though, is it?

These may well be more interesting than the Leffes you can get in British supermarkets, but they haven't crossed my path yet. Either that, or there have always been loads of beers that seem more promising in the Belgian beer warehouses where I do my shopping

People who like Leffe Brune might like to try some of these, if they can get their hands on them:

Duivelsbier
Rochefort 8
Sint Bernardus Prior 8
Gouden Carolus Classic
Gulden Draak

None will disappoint

I only ever did one Camra festival as a volunteer and they put me in charge of a cask of Harvey's Elizabethan Barley wine with strict instructions only to serve in half-pint measures - the fools:hyper::hello::hyper::hyper:

Look chaps, Leffe Bruin is quite simply horrid. Go to the source...

Once you've got your laughing gear around a couple these, beer life will never be the same.
