It's used by the kind of people who don't eat meat and other good stuff.

I've never tried it to be honest but I think it is a really good idea.

Fast and careful!
Never used it TBH as I use chainsaw oil.

100ml of Green Oil for £5.99 V's 1lt of Stihl oil for £7.95 :becool:

I have just bought 10 litres of the same oil for £30 as I use it in my saw,and this batch seems thiner and is far easier to use than the claggy old stuff when used on bike chains ( I only use it on off road bikes)

I'm sure the green oil stuff is fine, especially if you are a tree hugger. I use plain old engine oil on mine. Good idea to wash the chain beforehand in kerosene though.

Chainsaw oil is a bad idea. Its very sticky and attracts dirt and grit.

I've used green oil for a few years now. Works fine.

So? How much oil do you actually use? I have 4 bikes - 2 of them in regular use, getting on for 5k miles per year. I use Prolink, £6.50 118ml, lasts around 2 years (+). Hardly at the top of my list when economising.

Always used Finish Line Cross Country myself.

But whilst servicing my Alfine hub recently with 80-90w gear oil (much cheaper than Shimano stuff) I noticed it had a similar viscosity as the Finish Line so have been using that. Very sticky so gotta wipe the outside well but seems good so far.

And yes. I know this doesn't answer the Green Oil question but thought it worth sharing.
