what's this?

It seems to have four legs at the front, dragging a caterpillar body along the ground.

its a ladybird, before it turns into a ladybird.

I recognised it as ladybird but not the exact one, and following that link means I've identified that was what was all over his tree last year. Thanks!

His tree was covered with these but I didn't know what they were at the time.

I didn't realise that Harlequins were an invading species and eating all the native ladybirds.

OK we need to protect rich p from this thread as he's a gigantic wuss, and at his age it might induce some kind of seizure. I will appeal to the Pro Racing and Beer peeps to keep him distracted. In the meantime please change the thread title and move to SC&P plz thx.

They're not. They are very bad for our native ladybirds.

Shortly after I found an actual caterpillar on the back of my neck. Must've been there 30-40mins.

Then a tick on my leg an hour after that.

Anyone would think I'd been wading through the jungle, not out for a stroll around a business park.
