Halfords bike mechanic job

How's the new job going for Mr Mouse? Has he started yet?

He's really enjoying the job so far, pay is pretty rubbish but his last job was in a call centre so it's a novelty for him to get paid for doing something he likes.

Mate of mine started in the bike department of Halfords before getting his current job as assistant manager of a local bike shop.

The local bike shop doesn't take trainees, so the only way to get in there is to learn the job somewhere else.

In t'other words, the Halfords job could lead to better things.

Seriously though, my laptop is knackered and this is harder work on my phone. I do peek in now and again, just don't share so much. I will do better.

I found myself in a job without it being offered to me and without me accepting the non existing offer and, furthermore remuneration was not discussed and was assumed to happen "When you come in next Friday we'll make sure that get paid promptly and above the going rate."

That was good enough for me. The job lasted nine Fridays, four or five more than expected.

I've got a second job that I've been in since November. Its a zero hours on call job. Haven't yet had a contract. I know what my hourly rate is but not my on call rate. I've only been paid once!
My boss doesn't know the rate either! She's a bit dizzy. I'm sticking with it, because theres potential for it to grow into a proper job!

An easy oversight to make when nervous. Besides it is hardly as if there would be room for negotiation. People are forced to take what they are offered.
