Call me the old cynic, but words like "bandwagon", "jump" and "onto" spring to mind.... one of the reasons for my
was the realization that the estimable Mr Wild is not of that ilk...!

There are several kinds of cyclists. I am one kind. We of this forum are of several different kinds. There is a kind that does it for the Press and the photo-opportunity.

Rant over...

Here is Mr Wild. He looks like he might be a casual cyclist at best. He doesn't have a body that looks like it cycles regularly. Perhaps he should start. Nothing better than knowing something about the products you sell.....

Not really fair. Mine doesn't look much better than that and I do about 1500 to 2000 miles a year, perhaps he does too!

(But probably not as he doesn't own a bike yet)

No doubt you have a six pack and legs of steel eh? I know plenty of people who cycle hundreds and hundreds of miles annually, yet still have bodies like sacks of spuds. Hell, that's me!

So what ?

Do you expect the people at Railtrack to have model railways in their spare bedrooms or spend their days out at steam railway events ?

Actually, from my experience, most do.

I said that because - admittedly this was 25 years ago... - a friend of mine at university had an interview with British Rail as part of the 'milkround'

He said the first half of the interview was just convincing the interviewer that he wasn't into trainspotting, wasn't some sort of train-geek, actually wanted a proper job and not to run a life-size Hornby set.
