Halfords British Cycling discount

IIRC, it was once possible to buy Halfords gift vouchers with the BC discount then use them to buy a bike, with a 2nd BC discount = 20% off approx.
As gift vouchers are excluded from the BC scheme, am I right in thinking this is no longer possible?

I don't know about buying vouchers via BC but a few years ago I bought Halfords vouchers via the British Canoe Union at 10% discount.
If you are spending enough it may be worth joining.
