Hand signal before pulling out to pass a parked car?

As for turning left off a road that I have right of way on ... I do not signal to drivers behind me because I do not want them to overtake and left hook me on the junction. I leave them thinking that I am going straight on to deter that.

If somebody is waiting to pull out of the junction ahead, I signal my left turn to them so they can pull out (unless there is someone right behind me).

I sometimes indicate right as a "hold back" signal. Often with a deliberate swerve or wobble to emphasise/draw attention

I normally signal, I've found out that it makes life easier and reduces my chances of ending up in A&E, if I don't signal I'm more likely to get some muppet trying something silly as I move out.

There really shouldn't be a need to signal your intention.

If I don't signal they'll keep trying to overtake, I might even get beeped for moving out, even if I signal there's no guarantee they'll not try and overtake as I move out.

Try moving out sooner? Or just stay in middle of lane?

Most of the time its too busy to ride in primary for any length of time, I'd just get a queue, and I'm moving out early. The worst place I pass parked cars on my commute is here http://goo.gl/maps/NpYNW up hill so I'm slow, its on my way home and normally very busy, elsewhere on my commute its not too bad passing parked cars, I'm moving at a reasonable pace and that makes things easier.

Then you shouldn't be where you are. You're either/or too close to the kerb/leaving it to late to pull out.

So what if you get beeped.

Your answer all a bit "if ifs and ands were pots and pans"

If you're slow you're slow, other cars will just have to be patient, I wouldn't be ducking in and out of those parked cars for anyone!

Where's the pots and pans come into this? you've lost me with that one. the rest of it is nice and clear, and no I'm not fussed if they beep.

How many car drivers are patient? I'm a patient car driver and I'm in a minority.
