Happy new year to all... planned on 5am ride, but as usual the rain and wind also wants a early start to the year :-(

Looks like another hour on the x trainner again.

Small change of plan Team Watson will be heading out in full force (well nearly 5 off us anyways) at 7 am heading along the thames toe path to the cutty sark and back again 36 miles at about more leisurely pace

I did a gentle ride along the Thames route yesterday. Because of works around the dome (Boris' cable car) that part is well and truly blocked off. There are no alternative routes marked out either so it's very easy to get yourself lost, even if you know the area well (which I do). Because they've made such a dog's dinner of it and you're forced away from the river anyway, you might be better off taking the main Woolwich-to-Greenwich road for that section.

I stopped by the Thames barrier to check whether a puncturee had everything he needed. A couple of miles further on, he in turn stopped to check whether I had everything I needed for my flat.

Back from a 7 am start out along the Thames Path to Greenwich then back alOng main route through woolwich and through thamesmead home to dartford. Took longer than we had expected due to two punctures by our newest member and the fact that he hadn't riden for a long time but hey ho!!!

I would've loved to kick off the new year with a ride but unfortunately I have developed a rather bad cold which is making riding a bike look very unappealing at the moment.
