My last two rides have been recording speeds of 143 and 155 kms/hour and average speeds of 60 kms / hour!!!
Do my setting need correcting or has Strava gone doo la Lee or what ?
For the record, my true average speed is about 17 kms / hour.
Screenshot for posterity.

From now on, I will transfer the data from my Garmin onto Strava, hence get true information and delete the Strava own record.

On desktop Strava site, click the ride, then click "..." under left column and hit "correct distance "

Does this solve issue?

Alternatively, you could have momentarily lost GPS lock on the ride and may need to remove a section.

Or just don't hit record on GPS computer while driving on motorway to your ride area.🤣

Is it the same on the head unit's own site?

IME this can happen if you begin a ride before the GPS signal has stabilised or has become corrupted due to a poor signal, leading to inaccurate positioning and associated silly speeds between these erroneous points.

I once rode 10,000 in one go

started just south of the Bering Strait and went across the USA and Canada direct to Warrington
then round back to Widnes via the Sanket Canal

The speed was amazing - so fast that I don't seem to remember much of it

some people seem to think it was a problem with the GPS data

but clearly that is wrong
