I've met Adam Clayton from U2, Jensen Button (in Islington), Sir David Attenborough (at my University where he was getting an honorary Doctorship) and Martin Fry from ABC (he was a member of a gym I used to work at)
I met Toyah Wilcox a couple of times in Edinburgh (I've carried a torch for her since 1981).That's a pooh one.I know someone who knows someone who knows Alan McGee quite well.
Don't laugh but I have met all of the Barron Knights, Leslie Crowther and Michael Bentine.
My friend's dad met Matthew Kelly in a car park in Bournemouth.
Is there anyone you'd like to meet?
It all rather depends on how the person aquired fame and/or popularity. Someone posted earlier theyed met Douglas Bader. I think that hes deserves respect. ( unpleasant though he appeared to be to a friend of mine who met him)What is the nature of fame and does it deserve respect?
I would argue not.
Popularity is no virtue, and fame is rarely uncontrived.
Yeah I was having a chat with Simon at the Gerry McAvoy 'Band Of Friends' Gig a couple of months back, He's playing with the new band before Christmas but I can't afford both gigs.Have you bought the Christmas single?
