Heated car seats, they have certainly evolved over the years.

Mercedes brought out Air Scarf 10 or 20 years ago. Blows warm air around your neck.

They were a requirement for my partner when we bought a new (to us) car. For back pain, it can be a good comfort. I find them too hot so turn them down and then it feels weird like I'm sitting in warm pee. So I rarely use them. IMHO anything heated works well as a kickstart when it's freezing outside, but once the cabin is warm, anything else becomes redundant

I concur......it does give you the feeling that you have accidentally wet yourself.

My mate got a car with posh gadgets like heated seats, in car entertainment system, sat-nav, rolling roof, computer controlled window tinting, etc. When I asked him about the MPG, he didn’t know. Said it wouldn’t start ;-)

I'm from the era when a passenger side wing mirror was an optional extra. My OH prefers young oxos car when its cold because its got heated seats unlike my nearly new car which hasn't. She reckons I've got to change my car to one with heated seats in the future, I've said its not happening 🤭.

Some Fords (this was a while back) had heated and cooled seats - can imagine that's great on a hot day as well as the a/c.

My van has heated and massaging seats. No heated steering wheel, but has rear a/c and heating, and it has a diesel heater that kicks in if cold so you've got hot air coming out of the vents immediately - very useful as diesel vehicles take a while to get to temperature.
I'm pretty sure why many now come with heated seats and steering wheels as they don't warm up quickly (my BIL has noticed this about his Kuga).
