Hi everyone i have been lurking on the forum for the last couple of days and have read some really useful info,so i thought it was high time i signed up.

Ive not been on a bike for about five years and then it was always MTB.I have decided to start commuting to work and last night picked up a Carrera gryphon v spec for £100 on ebay.I dont know much about bikes but it seems to be in very good nick and everything worked fine when i took it for a spin this morning. Will take some getting used to from my old cheap full sus but i really like the feel of it.

I hope to pick up a lot more info and join in on the site.

Cheers

Hi and welcome from just up the road ! now just being a little nosey but where are you commuting to ? and if you are working for a company are they in the cycle to work scheme i think you would need to chat to the H.R. department about this. Oh and happy cycling and have you still got the old mtb this could be useful in the winter months!!

Hi and welcome Ian!
Cycling to work is a great idea, good for the health, saves money and commuting time.
That's how I started. Beware though: today I was huffing and puffing up a hill in the countryside ... on my day off.
Cycling is addictive!

I usually spend four nights a week in the gym, with one of them being spent on an exercise bike, its taken me a while to realise it would be a much better experience to do the same thing outside

The ride to Hebden is nice.......it's the extra 50 miles of hills Colin adds to my ride afterwards that hurts ! I've not done it for a couple of years but the master plan is to get my backside out more next year now I have finished my studies ( mature student/career change) !!!
