help needed

I was wandering if anyone on here could help me out. I have a halfords ventura road bike and I'm about to respray and rebuild it does anyone know when these bikes were made its a 5 speed if that helps. I've owned it for a few years but I had it given to me in the 90s. I've searched the net and all I get is the new model. Any pics of an original one would be great. Thanks mick

Mick, I don't want to state the obvious but have you tried Halfords themselves?

Ha yes they were my first port of call. I should have said in my post. Went to their cycle dept and asked about the bike. I was met with a lot of blank stares. Then I realised the bike was older than some of them. They did look on their computer but I was told their records don't go back that far. Thanks for the reply. Mick
