London motorists were marvellous tonight but a special shout out to the ice cream man who went beyond the call of duty, putting his own van at risk to help me test my brakes in the wet.
Without even a second thought to the livelihood he might lose should the police have spotted him, he pulled out of a queue of cars waiting at some lights and headed straight at me on the wrong side of the road.
Fair play to the man, he can't have sold many lolly ices in today's weather yet he was still thinking of ways to help more vulnerable road users. Ice cream man, this is for you...
