HGV driver deliberately swipes lane hog.

If I decided to, say, deliberately pay slowly at a till in a supermarket, am I contributing to my fate if the person behind swings a baseball bat near my head in frustration?
Ooh. Can you let me know where you're going to do this and I'll buy a baseball bat. I got a 25% off fares to London discount the other day. Seems a shame to waste it.

You can come and try but you might find that doing so, mixed with my 8 years of martial arts, have unintended consequences for you.

"an ambulance took him to hospital with neck and shoulder pain."

Seriously? An ambulance? So, he was perfectly fit to "follow him until I see him being pulled over", but unable to make it to A&E? So an ambulance had to be called away from doing what ambulances are needed for to take him to hospital, for neck & shoulder pains resulting from a collision severe enough to cause this much damage to his car:

Take the words 'right' & 'yeah' and rearrange them to form a well known phrase or expression. Also 'arse' and 'my'.

As someone has said above, I think the key words in this entire episode are: "I've got it all on desk-cam as well" - pronounced, I might say, in a tone hardly suggestive of intolerable agony.

The lorry driver hardly covered himself in glory, but the desk-cam publicist should be prosecuted for hogging the middle lane (while the inside lane was clear), wasting ambulance time, and wasting police time. And banned, for being a nobber.

whilst not condoning road rage, nor superkarket rage, if you deliberately wind up a total stranger it does increase your chance of getting thumped.

I suspect the sympathies of most us here would be with Buzz Aldrin rather than the twattish bloke he (eventually) thumped after winding him up over moon landing conspiracy nonsense

Now road rage is another level of dangerousness, but it does rather sound like 6 of 1 and half dozen of the other

shoot driving by the middle lane hog, deserved that imo as horrible as it sounds. He had plenty of time to get over to the left lane, doesn't look at all as if he was 'about' to move over as he claims at all.

Winds me up immensely when I'm driving on the motorway and people think it is ok to pootle at 60mph in the middle lane. Almost as annoying as pointless MGIF overtakes or left hooks when I'm cycling. It's dangerous because it cause traffic behind to slow down unnecessarily and reduces motorway capacity as everyone behind is forced into lane 3 to overtake one numpty.

Also drivers who take forever to overtake HGVs in the middle lane, if you are going to overtake then you should be assertive about it and pass them at at least 70mph and then get back over to the left lane if it is clear, see so many motorists who get level with the cab and then don't complete the overtake for some reason. It shouldn't be difficult to overtake a HGV going at 56mph even in a car with a tiny engine.

Oh and while I'm at it HGVs should be banned from overtaking completely imo. Causes so much unecessary congestion for very small time savings. A lorry going at 56mph compared to 55mph only saves 9 minutes on a 6 hour journey of 336 miles. Yes I know they often have strict delivery windows and driving hour limits, but a spot of congestion here or there and even those time savings are nullified.

But the reality is that for some reason if you end up disabled and have to be pushed along in a wheelchair because the bat struck you, your neighbours and people in general will talk about your silly deed and less about the person languishing in jail for swinging the bat.

Yes, you contributed to your fate even though the response was wholly overboard and certainly illegal.

When swinging a baseball bat at someone you don't aim for the head (easy to dodge) go for the knees, they might get one out of the way but the other one is still there (same technique as the police went for on a 'mate' at a protest, but to be fair he was asking to be arrested and was)

When defending against a baseball bat get in very close as it's cumbersome and ineffective at close range. They'll then have at least one hand tied up holding it so you can defend yourself quite easily.
