BBC report.

OK; I know the lorry driver shouldn't have done it and he clearly lost the plot, BUT I have absolutely zero sympathy for the "victim". It is clear from his own video footage that he wasn't passing anything and the left lane was perfectly clear - so why was he not in it? Especially as he was going much slower than the HGV, electronically restricted to 55 mph..
Now the victim claims he was deliberately and repeatedly rammed by the HGV, yet the photos of the damage to his car tell a different story. He also seems to have a dose of compensationitis in the form of neck and shoulder pain.

Do these middle lane hogging nobbers not realise that HGV's are not permitted to use the right hand lane, where there are 3 or more lanes? I see this type of driving every day, several times per day, and it really does get up the noses of reasonable thinking road users. USE THE LEFT LANE you selfish nobber, and none of this would have happened (TWICE, in 14 minutes!).

Heaven forfend that a company deliberately provoked a response by driving illegally and then attempted to achieve maximum publicity for their product.

There's very little sympathy for the car driver in the responses onthe BBC article. Bad and impatient driving from the truck driver, but 50 mph in the middle lane on a motorway in dangerous. If you or your car can't manage 70mph, don't go on motorrays.
I wonder what happened before the video started?

He deserved it. Can't stand those middle lane idiots. I'd love a big thing on the front of my car, a bit like a snow plough, so I could scoop the idiots off the road and dump them in the ditch. And maybe also a really loud speaker so I could yell at them and point out their mistakes!

Well he lost his job in the process. A
What's to stop him finding employment with another haulage company? Maybe one with fewer scruples about their drivers' behaviour. I'm not sure that man should be allowed behind the wheel of a modest family hatchback, never mind an articulated lorry.

I too wonder what had happened earlier, having said that 'road rage' of any form should not be tolerated.

How so? I think you are muddling dangerous with frustrating. There's nothing dangerous by driving 50mph on a motorway. If someone cannot cope with meeting a driver at that speed they should hand their license back.
Maybe not dangerous, but it could be construed as driving without reasonable consideration for other persons using the road (Road Traffic Act 1988 section 3). If you are sitting your driving test these days, and do not drive to somewhere reasonably near the speed limit where road conditions allow, then you will fail the test.

He probably will. The Traffic Commissioner will see to that. Car driver should lose his, too.
From the footage, I would say that the car driver was driving badly, so maybe deserves some form of sanction. However, I expect that the actions of the lorry driver have seen to it that no such sanction will be forthcoming.

I do not doubt for one second it is annoying, but to call it dangerous (as the previous poster did) is wrong. It is the same line dished out by many as to why everyone should speed anywhere.
