@Fnaar :eek:

Where the rails meet the saddle at the rear it looks like they have been glued on . Im not sure if a genuine one is one piece of carbon or not but this was a messy looking job for a £500 saddle . It was also 20g heavier than selles stated weight . There was an imperfection on the top and the box was also fake .

Look at it another way, would you pay over £400 extra for a genuine one that looked a bit tidier and weighed 20 grams less?

A couple of mates have bought those carbon knock offs, the Selle San Marco ones. They looked identical to the really thing apart from they were about a tenth of the price, one of my mates is 110kg and it took his weight fine too.

No I wouldn't have paid the extra £400 that's why I was looking for a second hand one on ebay . Now it seems I may have to pay full RRP if I want to get one as the market is flooded with fakes .
Good luck to your friends and I hope they don't get injured by their saddles . No one I showed the saddle I had too said they would ride on it .

There are thousands of fake carbon saddles of pretty much every description on Ebay as you've noticed, you'd think we'd be hearing regular stories of saddles breaking and injuries happening......:thumbsup:

Personally I wouldn't use a fake either though, nor buy one.

I'm not sure what you meant with the rails being glued in, but this is a photo of a brand new Fizik Antares I've just bought (from Wiggle not Ebay!) and the rails are bonded in at the back, so if it looks like this I wouldn't be worried about safety.

Im not sure the people that make fake goods use the same care and bonding process as Fizik or Selle :thumbsup:
