Got back from Himalayas this week. Flights went fine in the end. Still awaiting refund of original flights transiting via Doha. I would imagine a few are awaiting refunds.

Photo is looking at one of the 8,000 metre peaks. Bonus if anyone recognises it (without using any internet tools). A joint 60th birthday present to ourselves.

We have booked with Trailfinders for east coast Canada later this year. Fly BA to Toronto (visit Niagara Falls) train to Ottawa, train to Quebec train to Montreal then home with BA. We will spend five days exploring each city and staying at the best hotels.
We have used Trailfinders for our two New Zealand camper van adventures and also for our Rocky Mountaineer and the Rockies last year. Trailfinders organisation is first class they know all the best places to stay and explore.
Hopefully the Middle East will have settled down and people getting away via Dubai will get their holidays too.

sounds similar to the trip I had booked for myself in May 2020…luckily i got all my money back!

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Had a holiday in a chalet in Scratby in about 1957 when I was four. One of several chalets hidden behind the dunes and easy access to the sea. Loads of sandy beaches offset with Elsan toilets - !
Think the standards may have improved since then - !

probably the same chalets
i do like scratby as its not the usual line of tat shops and amusement arcades , i think there is one small amusement / slot machine place, a chinese , a chip shop, general stores, bakery and a cafe .
This means less " can i have " and enjoy the hols .
My favourite place is dawlish / warren in devon but i have stopped going in recent years as the trip can be too long sitting in a queue with all the other holiday makers doing 5 mph for hours on end .
