Just finished smartening up spare bedroom, several coats of paint, painted old radiator, new lightswitches and converted single socket to double. New curtains going up, Good results!

Re the sunburn peel paint...its going to be either Johnstons or Leyland , both of which I've used in the past with no issues. It's odd because the worst peel areas are in sunlight near windows or doors, uv light breaking it down perhaps or it just might be poor prep that time...or dodgy paint, who knows?
Deluxe water based this time, cheap Wickes sander did speed things up an awful lot, lots to do but a busy period coming up with a mask fitting session for my wife's radiotherapy then 10 sessions following.
She asked, why are you starting it now ? You know we're going to be busy ?

Because it's been doing my head in...I do get aggravated putting things off, which I have been but am not motivated to start. Eventually I get so aggravated it's easier to start than put it off any longer. Anyone else.like this ?

Power rotavator came apart, my fault didn't do a bolt check for tightness. Bent a skid arm. I straightened it on the hydraulic press, had some bolts which I cut down on length

FARK ORF, two hours so far and I've given up for the night with the drawers still to do. As for the assembly diagrams, I part trained as a draughtsman during my engineering apprenticeship and if I'd presented drawings like that to the head draughtsman my ears would have been ringing for a week.

Just keeping an eye on the boiler's motorised valve. Woke up on Tuesday to a hot bathroom radiator. Hot water was on.

This usually means the Synchron motor is faulty. Easy/cheap swap, although the 'location' usually means some swearing. I went into the airing cupboard, and found towels etc stuffed near the valve - hmm. Moved everything, ran some hot water off the tank whilst cleaning the bath, hot water kicked back in, no hot radiator. Seems OK so far, two days later and hot water being on am and pm for an hour or two.

In 30 years we've had two replacements, so not bad. I did the most recent one about 5 years ago, so it shouldn't have gone faulty as I went for a 'genuine' replacement, at £25.

Just helped my brother inlaw assemble a 12x8' shed. What a bloody awful design. Far too many small panels to screw together, flimsy as hell. Instructions were all back to front, it wanted the windows installing almost as the first job, except it didn't tell you were the frame edges were to be mounted and the plastic sheets were either too big in one direction or too small in the other orientation. After an hour fooking around in the blazing sun, we ditched windows until it was assembled. All bloody day in 30°C sunlight 🥵.

I left him with a basic shell up an semi screwed together . He said it took another 2 days to finish off, said it was a pile of crap his missus had bought.

We've just had one of those put up, a pre-fab 14x6. I'm not that happy with the quality, as you say the panels are very flimsy and the window panes are little more than clingfilm. They actually flex in the breeze. But our roofer/builder has added additional support to the frame and window panels. He's also torched on proper roofing felt rather than the thin stuff they supply. But, it was cheaper than building a "proper" one from scratch so as long as it stays up that's all we want it for

Very similar with our summer house. I did quite a few upgrades as we went though, and I insulated it, then ply lined it. Had I not done that, it would have been cold and drafty in winter, and hot in the summer. It's now warm and dry in winter and cool in the summer.

We got ours from Project Timber. Our roofer used to build sheds for 6 years and recommended them. Well, I'd not recommend them to anyone unless they are on a really tight budget. I think ours was £1100. They look nice on the outside but are flimsy as anything. Plus they get delivered standing up on a single pallet which is asking for damage (and mine was, so I had to wait for 2 replacement panels).

I have just taken down a shed, well a foot to front and back panels and down it came like a pack of cards!

Tiger Shed?

Tiger are actually among the better ones IME. We have had two of theirs - a big one ( I think it was 12' x 8', might have been bigger) in the last house, and a smaller potting shed in the current house.
