A quick tart up of the kitchen so it lasts a few more years before we decide to either move or extend...ceiling scraped, filled, sanded then painted with Wicks kitchen paint....total rubbish, 5 coats later and I can still see the previous colour coming through. However the tile paint(I cant remember the brand and is a two pack) is excellent.

I was down at my in-laws new property they are renovating. They wanted to get my dehumidifier to help dry out the property after the extension and re plastering.

I was horrified to see the kitchen is fitted in the same room where the concrete floor still had 50% moisture content. The heating is being sorted to come on this weekend. Hope the mdf cadinet panels doesn't swell and split.

Far too much of a rush to get into the property

Are they having a bare concrete floor then? Or just tiling last?

Fitted a sloping clothes rail to my new under the sloping roof wardrobe.

Far more fiddly than my wife imagined. The custom rail with metal bobbles between each hanger is fixed to plasterboard. I could it one old butterfly fixing to each of the 3 supports.

There is a wide array of new plasterboard fixings for heavy duty applications but butterfly fixings are still good.

In each support the other 2 holes just had plastic plasterboard plugs to stop movement.

I think it was some karndean flooring or similar. Thank goodness the builder told them not to put flooring down. Wasn't able to stop kitchen installation.

They now have another headache to deal with. Wanting to save a few quid-instead of using the main builder to install self leveling before flooring went down in other rooms, they used third party, who has made a balls up with the levelling.

The skirting boards will either need major scribing to overcome the uneven pour or all the self levelling needs to come back up

Struggling to understand how you can cock up self-levelling compound. I'm not great at DIY but I can do self-levelling compound. The clue's in the name!
