It's Bruce's bed, hence the, er, character!
Our oil tank watchman sensor stopped working. The battery was flat. I replaced it, still didn't work. I noticed a small amount of condensation inside the unit. Dried it off - no joy. Pulled the battery and
used a thermal imaging camera to see if anything was getting hot too quickly. Soon as I placed the battery in, voltage dropped from 3.2V to 2V and the memory RF transmitter driver chip started to glow.
A bit of searching revealed problems with water ingress and failures. I decided I would upgrade the design. I dismantled the new one, sprayed the PCB with acrylic comformal coating to protect against moisture attacking the circuits. I will use dielectric grease on the gasket lid, drill 1mm drain holes on the perimeter to aid moisture venting in the event it does form inside

Got it working with both receivers now. I paired the old receiver too.
The phone app has been diabolical from day one. It took several calls to Kingspan technical to get it to pair and work. It then became random on its reporting. I've deleted it.
Can get by with two radio receivers indicating oil level

Ebac washing machine occasionally get turned off mid cycle, mistakenly of course.
Trued a new cycle yesterday,...just got a rapid flashing door lock symbol. Can't open door, left turned off for 30 mins, no difference.
Tried draining the.machine manually, no difference.
Ok, top off, have a look at the interlock, meh looks ok but is that slider the hook engages with going back properly ?
Got some electrical cleaner, switch off...a bugger to get to, thorough clean, rebuild...same. Ah well, I tried.
Lid back on, then noticed theres a 'reset' by simultaneously pressing two buttons, tried that, something changed, then theres similar for 'lock', pressed...boom, away it went, fixed.
So it's dont know if the cycles been stopped midway and the computers lost itself a bit...or the switch was sticky, or maybe a bit of both. Either way...its working now. Rock on...

I've been very pleased with my gas soldering iron. Mine was branded Antex (a proper make of such things) but seems very similar to the no-name one it replaced (after decades) For soldering odd-jobs it's more handy than worrying about a cable, and removes the risk of soldering through the cable when you haven't got a permanent set up. The rope cutting hot knife, flame torch, and catalyst hot air fittings are useful too. Fine enough solder tip for electronics

Mine has an exhaust hole near the tip... one has to consider its position. It's burnt things I didn't intend to burn, thankfully not the guitar.

Put lino down in the summer house - aka crafting shed (used to be my Covid office). Up early and removed all the furniture (it's only 8x6). Hoovered the floor, popped down flooring insulation then cut the lino to fit. Also re-fitted one of the double wooden doors as it was catching on lower door frame, and used my new multi tool and sander to trim the wood so the door fitted better. MrsF is in there now weaving wicker twigs into a bird feeder. Job jobbed off the long list !

Ah yes the side holes for the glowing catalyst. The glow has given me enough warning that I've managed to avoid ballsing it up
