Razor blade seats? Now I get narrower seats which fit my sitbone I can go for 5 hours with no pain. Even on the MTB I can wear under crackers and normal shorts.

because it's comfortable and I want to ride somewhere 65+ miles away

Fair enough. Each to their own.

I'm not sure the implied 'I wear jeans so you don't need padded shorts and your saddle doesn't fit' is the best advice though.

It seems you have something against what the vast majority of cyclists find comfortable? (Based on the fashion comment)

OP - get some padded shorts (I use dhb bibs but you may find just shorts fine) and try it out. You do have to get used to being in the saddle for a few hours though.

No, I have something against the unnecessary pressure to wear padded spandex for simple cycling... often by the same people who insult lightly padded, leather and/or sprung saddles.

And anyone who thinks "the vast majority of cyclists" are wearing padded spandex, or that those not doing so are uncomfortable, needs to get out of the club cycling echo chamber and look at the real world!

You sound like a very hip kind of cyclist. I bet you look cool and retro. It's all good, it's nice you're different and not one of our type of knobbers who buy very expensive padded kit and are hell bent on performance and Strava Koms whilst fantisizing about been a pro Rodie.
I tip my hat off to you sir.

As I pointed out in my previous post, it's not different to most! Plus I rarely look cool but I don't care because I'm comfortable and not suffering from irritated skin in sensitive places or the other problems I suffered when trying spandex.
