It reminds me of the gravestone in the local cemetery which goes something like Born and Bred a Proud Yorkshireman. Yet he was buried in Lancashire?

Identity matters hugely to me. I see myself as being Scottish and European and I hate the little Englander weltanschauung that some have.

Good for you. I see myself as being a human being, much the same as I see you. I don't care where you're from, what language you speak, what your religion is, your history, or anything else. All I ask of you is that you are a decent human being.

I'm a scouser and Liverpool was one of the original English melting pots. I know where my family is from and I know how I identify. English is not the fist word I think of.

Wife brought me to Leicester and career meant we stayed here, if I could afford it I would move back tomorrow.
