I'm having to make the choice between taking my Capri in to have the rear spring hanger section replaced or buying another vintage motorbike (it'll be number 7 in my collection).;)

Good job I get all my bikes and cycling kit free:biggrin::thumbsup:

When I look at some my age (early 50's) who have it easy nowadays, it's not (it seems to me) because they are particularly bright or have done great things in their careers. A lot of them just seem to have always been well off - born lucky and don't know it!

Not all of us. I have lived away from home and worked hard since age 16 and saved all my life. No handouts from my parents at all. Still managed to retire at 50! Life is good!

Yeah, but marrying that millionaire helped a bit, didn't it?;)

Hmm. To elaborate, on paper, I have enough to live on and save some, but my partner has a very unpredictable income pattern, being self employed, and has little control over when and where he works (there's no choice at the moment because work is scarce). He also a pathological tendency to blow all of his money recklessly, on occasion. The upshot is I daren't invest my savings and I have to bail him out from time to time, so always feel broke and financially insecure.

You can only be broke if you are obsessed with making money and possessing things, life's for living today not saving for tomorrow, strive to be you not a clone of someone else, accept yourself as you are and you'll always be rich.

Remember the best idea's come thru necessity

So speak the wise one!

The trouble is that if you can't feed the kids, clothe them and pay the rent you're stuffed (and broke);)

+1 spoken like a true single guy repairtec!

Try keeping that attitude when you have kids!

"I am sorry Fin I know your only three and you don't understand but you can't have dinner tonight or wear shoes that fit your growing feet because daddy is not obsessed with earning any more and life is for living!"

Genius! ;):biggrin:!:biggrin::biggrin:!

I'm not entirely broke but there are a few debt cracks in the Snapper wall. :tired:

As long as I keep a roof over my hut and a food for us and the dog, so be it. ;)
