I was about 12 when the Granada Ghia Coupe came out in the UK. It was the first (I think) use of the Ghia badge on a Ford and the start of a terrible dragging of the name through used sump oil for a few decades. I write this as the driver (not owner) of a 60s car styled by Ghia before they became a badge of convenience.

I recall being terribly impressed by the Ghia Coupe (as a 12-year-old). The body style was common in Germany before it came to the UK, but not available here until updated and fully pimped.

I have to say I still get a tingle when I think about these things. There was a wonderful taste vacuum in the 70s that produced models like the Volvo 262C Bertone, the Granada Ghia Couope and the Camargue.

Oh no... I'm getting nostalgic.

I can see why the owner did what he did to that car. It's like what I've done to my fixie but prettier and £15k more expensive.
