How do i get a rack to fit ??

New bike, first with discs and the altered frames they have.
I have number of good quality racks, there are mounting holes on the “lugs” .. but .. the frame directly above the mounting points comes out by approx 12 mm stopping the rack vertical arms from being fitted ... am i missing something ? Is there a fitting that needs to be attached to the frame to allow the fitting of a rack ?

You may need longer nuts and washers to space the legs out (if you can) of your existing racks. The other option is a disc specific rack.

You could try some longer bolts with a 12mm spacer (short piece of pipe), could be cheaper that a new rack.

What frame is it?
Where is the rear disc caliper located.

Disk specific racks have a built in spacer about 1" thick on both bolt holes. Thus adds 2" in width so only use if you have to ( and you do).

I have used what is probably exactly the frame in the link. Found it just the job.

Yeah adding a spacer (to bring rack arms out a bit) sorts it out. Make sure you grease bolt threads before fitting. See the seized bolt thread for what happens if you don’t.

I have one of those on my CX bike to make sure that the left side of the rack mount clears the rear disk.
