The best cure of all of course, is just to get your head chopped off.

It stops aches, pains and coughs INSTANTLY!! (Although admittedly you might have a sore neck for a relatively short period of time).

Working from home for a couple of days will hopefully give time for the drugs to kick in.
Amazeballs.

My Tuesday went something like this....

GP visit > crackly chest > beginnings of a chest infection > no need for antibiotics just give it a couple of weeks.

Have you tried taking Ibuprofen? The coughing is caused by inflamed bronchial passages. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory. It works.

(My cycling buddy, a physician, put that suggestion to me.)

In between here and there
I have got this thought I was the only male to go through the menopause breaking out in sweats without any temp, chest crackling cough. Best description ever of the morning was your concrete!

I'm out the other side with mine, sweats gone, headache gone just a bit of a cough left, bang on the 10 days that it's rumoured to last for

It cleared just in time to start back at work for another 7 days!! :0(

The missus sadly is only 2 days in now!!
I've had the "thing that's going round". Hot and cold for a couple of days last week but with no temperature and generally feeling grotty. It's now developed into the cough to beat all coughs and it's driving me mad. My ribs are aching from coughing, every 20 minutes I have to have a good go, and the first five minutes when I get up in the morning feel like someone has poured setting concrete down my throat overnight.

So, what are your tips? I hate feeling ill because it stops me doing things. And I want to get back on my bike...
I've had this for 3 weeks now - defo the same bug lots of people have had recently

Went around here a couple of months ago. Mrs GA dragged me to the clinic, as she felt guilty for giving it to me, and they gave me a nasal spray called Flonase and a great big antibiotic pill. The cough formulated Riccola usually works, but this I could not shake at all. The pills and Flonase worked, but it took a few days. Max von Sydow was not available at my location.

I feel worse now than I did seven days ago and spent a large part of last night coughing and then upchucking.

Great.

Iv had mine for the best part of ten days. Decided that enough was enough and went for a quick 8 mile blast.
Best thing I did !
It hurt my chest terribly but it really blew away those cobwebs and got rid of some of that disgusting snot that I was struggling to get up.
Went for a 40 miler yesterday and this morning I seem back to my old self.

Well quack says he's puzzled. Blood test ruled out pneumonia or pleurisy appaz. Was really rough last week so on anti-b's now "in case" it isn't a virus.

Managed 76km on Sun in warm dry air in two stages but then had a really rough night. hack! hack! hack!
