To be serious for a sentence or two, at age seven, when the concepts of 'rights' and 'responsibilities' are still being formed, the apparent 'imposition' of religion seems odd. For me, it is all magic book stuff, bearing no relation to reality. Save for the fact that some people do enjoy following their favourite - like a football team etc..I suppose.
A young person with a familiar family member is going to share a family moment rather than 'see the light' I think. An exceptionally perceptive child might rationalize the explanations offered but, given the state of the 'grown up world' of today - we have a hard enough time of it and mostly get it wrong.
