How do you freshen up white bar tape?

paraffin and a brush, then washing up liquid and water and a brush.

some of the dirt/blood/stains will be ingrained so will not be sifted. if that really bothers you, you would need to sand the tape to remove the top surface, may not work with cork tape but should with PVC unless it is ribbed. - not worth the hassle IMO.

I think that's all I'll ever need to know about cleaning bar tape.

Next time I'll try the furtniture polish trick.

I would try one of those bars of vanish stain removal soap and a nail brush. Never used it on handlebar tape but I know it cleans the upholstery of old cars up better than anything I've seen and it is very cheap. Also good for washing oil of your hands.

He's right. It does. Mine's been on for almost 2 years and people still comment on how nice it looks.

I might replace the tape as it happens, I want to stick some of those gel pads underneath. I'll give that stuff a go.
