Mine is a Trek 4500 hardtail MTB. Sadly I had an accident involving a fallen tree, my rear wheel and my rear mech. 
Aside from damage to the wheel and utterly destroying the mech, I elongated the rear triangle of the bike. 
So I made the bike into a single speed commuter. She now has mud guards, slick tyres, reflectors everywhere, a bell and rigid forks. All the quick release stuff has been replaced with security devices (bought and improvised). So I've ended up with quite a nice fully rigid bike that, at a glance, is less attractive to thieves.
