42mph, but I live in Suffolk and we don't have any proper hills, so that's about as much as I have found possible. Not through lack of trying though.

About 38mph down Beacon hill from memory.

Generally, hills currently fall into 2 categories for me: ones where I know/can see the bottom clearly, where I can take them quickly and ones where I'm less familiar or more windy. Those latter ones I'm very slow on them. Still building confidence from a fall last year (not hurt).

I just find it difficult given I've no problem descending quickly on things I know. Just need to find a loop and descend over and over.

I have the same issue with corners atm, after falling on some oil last year i have lost my nads on fast bends .

I hit 52 mph on the A470 in Snowdonia last summer. Excellent road surface and visibility. Probably could have gone quicker but it was plenty fast enough for me.

I managed to get to 55 coming down Alpe D'Huez and it was great fun being able to whizz past cars.

Generally round these parts I'm comfortable hitting high 30's so long as I can see what's coming toward me.
