44.7 mph down beacon hill recorded with my incredibly inaccurate mobile phone according to @Supersuperleeds who's top speed I beat
. Wouldnt want to do much faster

The fastest I've been though is only 47.6mph down the String road in Arran in perfect conditions, Im sure others will be 60mph + down there.
The most I've done in the Fens which is similar terrain is just over 40mph, so 42mph is good going42mph, but I live in Suffolk and we don't have any proper hills, so that's about as much as I have found possible. Not through lack of trying though.
I have the same issue with corners atm, after falling on some oil last year i have lost my nads on fast bends .About 38mph down Beacon hill from memory.
Generally, hills currently fall into 2 categories for me: ones where I know/can see the bottom clearly, where I can take them quickly and ones where I'm less familiar or more windy. Those latter ones I'm very slow on them. Still building confidence from a fall last year (not hurt).
I just find it difficult given I've no problem descending quickly on things I know. Just need to find a loop and descend over and over.
43.9mph, downhill, recorded on ?
EDIT: I've just checked on Connect and I've got two rides where the Garmin has recorded a maximum speed of 146.5mph, so I'm claiming that!![]()
Fossy has me beat, I 'only' managed 55mph coming off the Snake Pass but I would have happily gone faster if I could.60 in Wales nr Betsw-y-coed. 55 off Woodhead in the Peaks. MPH of course.
