No, I know what Indian Bean Trees look like. They look like exceptionally good trees for climbing.

Maybe you won't have to after next year, once Ash die back starts to take hold. Ash are a tree I have difficulty recognising because their leaves look like too many other trees'. Trees of Heaven, Elder and and Rowan have compound leaves too. Rowan have lots of orange/red berries this time of year. Elder have fewer leaves in each compound leaf. Ash tree leaves are a particular shade of green.

Many years ago I read a book written by a guy who was a wild life warden or something, I forget the name of the book, but he added spice to the identity of trees by categorizing their smell and effectiveness as fire wood. Interestingly this doesn't encourage chain saw madness but an appreciation and respect for trees. It may also be of note that it was the trees of Great Britain that gave the British Navy dominance. When I read this back I guess I am saying that a respect and admiration for trees does not mean that we should hug them all but work on managing their continuance intelligantly.

My mother used to take us out to the Ash tree at the bottom of one of the fields on Halloween, and told us of its guardian properties.

It also has great healing properties .

We have three ash trees in our garden. Not a bad feat for the small patch we have, as they are clearly full size forestry versions, no doubt picked up cheap by the builder. They are very intrusive and not at all attractive

The only time I need to recognise a tree is at 20+mph downhill on an mtb. And I just need to identify it is there, identify that it has a gap next to it, and nail that gap.
