Not sure if I'm being slow or just thorough, but it usually takes me at least 15 minutes to pump tyres, fill water bottle, put my clothes and shoes on, and check I have everything such as food, tools, tubes, phone, map etc. etc.

Why the map?
Less than ten.

If I was out of the door in as little as 5 minutes, I'd spend at least the first 10 miles wondering what I might have forgotten in my haste. Maybe I should have a checklist of essentials. For commuting I'm rarely bothered, as I'm never more than a few miles from home, and in the event of mechanical failure, no lights or a flat tyre I could easily walk.

A couple of minutes. I don't wear any specific cycle gear and I don't do big distances so it is a quick squeeze of the tyres only. I do go out every day though and part of the ritual is always having to go back indoors and pick up the garmin as every single time I forget it! I do carry spare tubes and a puncture kit and few tools which permanently reside in the panniers.

Saying that, about once a week I have a session where I clean and check the bike over, oil the chain and repair any punctures.

20 to 30 mins. I hate me taking that lo g and wish I was more organised.

When I was a kid, things were vastly more efficient. 30 seconds is all it took to tell one a parent I was going out while I was rolli g the bike out. Didn't matter what I wore or now long the ride was. A knock at a friend's door to ask if he wanted to join, and it was the same 30 seconds for him. No route planning, no energy bars or GPS. It was usually "see how it goes" then find your way home when you thought parents might be worried.

These days ,just doing silly things like wearing MTB shoes and wondering why I can't connect to my road pedal were too numerous to mention.
