Good point. If I was fortunate enough to have one dangling from a very long chain, I don't think I would refer to it as a luminaire.

step 1: remove light from bike by cutting the cable instead of the cable tie
Step 2: resolder the cable
Step:3 cover the join with insulating tape
optional steps 1a, 2a, 3a: repeat above 3 steps because the polarity is now wrong
Step 4: replace lamp on bike
