Zero units a week. Only drank alcohol once 16 years, and I'm 16 years old. After the experience on my 16th birthday I have vouched never to drink again.

You'll recover.

I made that vow biannually, birthday and New Year's Day, for around a decade and recovered each time.

A warning: a single bottle of wine is not '4 or 5 units'. More like 10 units. Typical contents of a bottle: 750 ml. Typical strength: 13%abv. So one bottle contains 750 * 0.13 ~ 98 ml pure alcohol (1 unit = 10 ml). Similarly a typical 'glass of wine' is a lot more than one unit.

Me? I honestly have to answer, I don't know. But it's very low, partly due to my going very long periods without drinking. And if I do partake, at any one session, I know that anything over two units puts me into palpitations, so I stop there. The price they charge for orange juice in the pubs is my bugbear!

These days I can't really tell, if I go out then maybe 30-40 units but I go months at a time without having a drink. Never have caught the drinking at home bug so I'd probably class myself as a fading binge drinker.
